The challenge

Build consistent communication for a skateboarding brand across social channels, community touchpoints, retail partnerships and sponsored athletes.

Strategy

Combine product campaigns, skateboarder-led content, magazine placements and physical activations. Use social analytics to test publication timing, creative formats and engagement instead of optimizing for reach alone.

Evidence & execution

I directly managed C1RCA marketing and ecommerce activity at American Distribution, alongside external creative and community collaborators. The 2013 review documents riders, media and brand activations. The separate May 2016 Facebook report evaluates audience size, posting hours, content formats, paid reach and interactions. It showed that product images often drove stronger reactions, while large paid reach did not guarantee participation.

What I learned

Engagement, reach and community size measure different outcomes. Content formats and posting times need testing, and historical audience snapshots must not be presented as a continuous growth curve without comparable baselines.
